Testosterone Saliva ELISA kit uses the competitive binding principle to measure testosterone levels in saliva samples. The kit typically involves coating a microplate with antibodies that bind to testosterone. A fixed amount of enzyme-labeled testosterone is also included. During the assay, the testosterone in the saliva samples competes with the enzyme-labeled testosterone for binding sites on the antibodies. The amount of enzyme-labeled testosterone that binds is inversely proportional to the concentration of testosterone in the sample. After washing away unbound materials, an enzyme substrate is added, which reacts with the bound enzyme-labeled testosterone, producing a colored product. The absorbance of this product is measured, and the testosterone concentration in the sample is determined by comparing the absorbance to a standard curve.
