About Cortisol ELISA Kit
Cortisol is a one-step immunoassay, based on the principle of the competitive method. Cortisol present in the sample and the labeled enzyme-cortisol in the conjugate compete for binding to the capture antibody on the anti-cortisol coated microplate. The enzyme activity in the antibody-bound fraction is inversely proportional to the native cortisol concentration.
The unbound components are removed by washing. After addition of the solution containing TMB and hydrogen peroxide, the wells with bound conjugate develop a blue colour which is converted to yellow after the reaction has been stopped with sulphuric acid.
The colour intensity is inversely proportional to the concentration of the native cortisol in the specimen and can be read at 450 nm.
Sensitive and Reliable Cortisol QuantificationThis ELISA kit utilizes a competitive assay format to accurately measure cortisol levels in serum, plasma, or urine. Its high sensitivity and wide detection range ensure reliability across diverse sample concentrations. Designed for user convenience, all necessary reagents are pre-formulated, making this kit a dependable tool for laboratories and research institutions.

FAQs of Cortisol ELISA Kit:
Q: How does the Cortisol ELISA Kit work?
A: The Cortisol ELISA Kit operates on a competitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) principle. Cortisol in the sample competes with a labeled cortisol conjugate for binding to antibodies coated on the 96-well plate. The amount of signal detected at 450 nm is inversely proportional to the cortisol concentration in the sample.
Q: What types of samples can be used with this kit?
A: This kit is compatible with serum, plasma, and urine samples, providing flexibility for various clinical and research needs. Each test requires just 2550 L of sample volume.
Q: When should I use this kit for cortisol measurement?
A: Use this kit whenever quantitative assessment of cortisol is needed, such as for diagnosing adrenal disorders, stress-related conditions, or research studies involving cortisol regulation.
Q: Where should the Cortisol ELISA Kit be stored for optimal stability?
A: For best results, store the complete kit at 28C. Proper storage ensures reagent integrity and maintains the kits shelf life of 1224 months.
Q: What is the assay incubation time and throughput?
A: The total incubation time is approximately 1.52 hours from start to finish. The provided 96-well microplate accommodates high-throughput analysis, making it practical for testing multiple samples simultaneously.
Q: How accurate and sensitive is the Cortisol ELISA Kit?
A: The kit features high sensitivity, detecting cortisol concentrations below 2 ng/mL, and provides reliable accuracy due to its validated components and robust protocol.
Q: What are the main benefits of using this kit?
A: Key benefits include ready-to-use reagents, a straightforward protocol, compatibility with various sample types, high sensitivity, and reproducibilitymaking it ideal for both routine diagnostics and research laboratories.
